How To Host Easter Parties On Your Deck

How to host Easter parties on your deck

Many of us are looking forward to celebrating Easter outdoors with family and friends this weekend.

Decking is a great place for guests to gather and with the weather looking warm and sunny this weekend, your Easter party couldn’t come at a better time.

While we admit good weather is never guaranteed (especially on a bank holiday), we’re feeling optimistic that we can confidently hatch a plan for the weekend. No eggs-cuses.

Ensure you have adequate seating

Whether you’re serving an Easter brunch or a traditional lamb roast, make the most out of the expected sunshine with al fresco dining on your decking.

Set up a long table or add more casual, comfortable seating so there’s space for all.

Gather your guests around a coffee table and add colourful cushions to invite your family and friends to sit and socialise after eating.

Get creative with table settings

Create an Easter-themed table setting your guests will admire to help them get into the Easter spirit.

Scatter chocolate eggs and bunnies on the table, that serve as both decor and an after-meal treat.

Don’t forget to add fresh flowers as the centrepiece – daffodils are always a favourite at Easter, as are tulips.

Use bright, pastel coloured plates and a floral table runner. To really impress, watch a Youtube video on how to turn napkins into bunnies – it’s surprisingly easy!

Some little Easter decorations

Provide the entertainment

Easter usually involves plenty of fun activities, especially if children are involved.

Plan an egg hunt in the garden, set up an egg decorating station on the deck and throw together an impromptu egg and spoon race.

The adults may even join in the latter after a couple of mimosas.
