Things To Think About When Creating A Decked Area

What’s on your Christmas wish list this year? If you like the idea of being able to sit out in the garden at home during the summer months on a glamorous new spot, you should be asking Santa for UPVC decking from Lakeland Verandahs.

Our UPVC decking will help that become a reality, but there are things to consider before you have it installed by our team.

Positioning

Once we’ve fixed down your decking, there will be no shifting it, so you need to be 100% happy with where it sits.

You might want it in a position where you will get the best possible view whilst reclining in your most comfortable garden chair or are conscious of it being in full view of the neighbours.

You also need to think about where it’s likely to receive the most amount of sunshine so that you’re not constantly left in the shade.

We will perform a survey to determine the most appropriate potential locations for the decking and only commence with the installation once you give your approval.

Size and Shape

Not everybody has a wealth of space for decking, but that doesn’t mean you cannot have it fitted.

Even some of the most compact decking areas offer enough spaciousness for regular outdoor gatherings. It can be tailored especially for the desired site.

When it comes to the shape of the decking, that will largely depend on the architectural design of the house. It needs to match the existing layout and proportions in order to look like a natural extension, which could mean it being round, curved or whatever other shape suits best.

Material

We only offer UPVC decking at Lakeland Verandahs, but you can also get wooden or composite decking.

It’s difficult to diss wooden or composite decking on how they look as they are undoubtedly attractive, but wooden decking is difficult to maintain, and aluminium decking can be expensive.

UPVC decking is neither of those things. It’s low-maintenance and less costly.
